Trolley Snatcha's new EP - Subtext  :: DP061 :: is sure to cause confusion.  It may not conform to typified notions of dubstep, but it does get your head noddin'. The two stand-out 140BPM Trolley tracks are absolutely 'Nasty Shit' and this one below, 'Make My Whole World'. With its over-the-top layered horn synth, jolting bassline, 808-style kicks and catchy sample, this one Massive tune.
Another kicker comes out of 'Giving Up' where Trolley samples a dubstep diva and manages to come up with a solid soldier-on euphoric track.
Nice lil jump-up-and-grind gem on the EP called 'The Jungle'. It is a purely EDM track sitting on a 128BPM measure, its continual winding synth build ups and thumping bassline ensure it'll be a track played way outside of most dub-circles. Be sure to check the samples for a good time.
The wrench in the workings of this EP is 'Flying Missiles' with its midrange whizzing and stock bassline, it went nowhere - it just wasn't different enough to stand out from its EP constituents.
With the release of Subtext, Trolley Snatcha will likely garner interest from new areas of dubstep/EDM/Electro music circles and with popularity's momentum may find it difficult to please everyone. This will be a good/interesting year ahead for a man like Trolley Snatcha. Big Ups. Get it [HERE]    BASS to 11!
